If there is one thing I would banish from earth, it is fear. And
the only way to do that is to see that there is nothing to fear -
nothing in all of life to be afraid of.
- Henry Ford
SANAD Foundation began on August 26, 2006. At this first General Meeting, a group of concerned citizens gathered to promote the mission of SANAD. Our goal to bring families together in a safe and moral environment caused us to continue our efforts. This grassroots organization meets to preserve our Sudanese heritage in order that our children will understand and celebrate their Sudanese roots. To this end, the following are some of the SANAD Foundation core activities:
Weekend School:
SANAD Saturday School is open to all children, ages 3 - 15. Classes are held at the Chino Hills Community Center on 2001 Civic Center Drive, in the City of Chino Hills. The SANAD Saturday School takes place on two Saturdays per month, from 11 am - 3 pm. In order to meet the developmental needs of our students, children are grouped by ageUnder the direction of our music teacher, all groups are part of the SANAD Choir. The choir practices and learns songs that promote their Sudanese heritage, as well as their American culture. Additionally, all groups participate in school-wide prayer.

This includes, but is not limited to, the teaching of the alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, and school rules. Instruction is also delivered in Sudanese Arabic for a portion of the day , in order to preserve and promote their native language.

Monthly Activities
SANAD organizes monthly family outings. These activities are designed to promote family fun and childhood experiences. These common experiences are meant to further our children's vocabularies, as well as expand their horizons. For this reason, we encourage all family members to attend. These outings are open to all of our families; your children do not need to be enrolled in SANAD School.Monthly Community
